Teaching Experience


Dr. Harvey taught graduate courses in Optics (Geometrical Optics and Optical Testing; 1981-83) as an adjunct professor at the University of New Mexico and the University of Connecticut (Physical Optics; 1985-89) before becoming a full-time faculty member at UCF College of Optics and Photonics / CREOL in the fall of 1990.

Instructor for the Perkin-Elmer Technology Transfer Program. Taught Physical Optics and Fourier Optics courses; two hours per week for ten weeks.

Short Course Instructor for SPIE-The International Society for Optical Engineering. Taught numerous short courses at various symposia and conferences: X-ray Imaging Systems, Astronomical Optics, Fundamental Factors Affecting Image Quality, Understanding Imaging Systems, Basic Diffraction Phenomena, Application of Scalar Diffraction Theory to Practical Problems, Applications of Fourier Techniques to Optical Engineering Problems.
